“I love building relationships,” she says with a genuine smile. “There’s a lot of detail-oriented work that I do, but the best part of my job is earning and keeping the trust of the wonderful seniors and families I am fortunate to work with every day. To me, home care is not just about what I do for the people I serve. It’s more about who I am doing it for that matters most. Putting a smile on someone’s face is what puts a smile on mine.”

Sharon has worked successfully as a caregiver in her family, with children and also with adults, many of whom had exceptional needs. The depth and breadth of her caregiving experience is what gives the families she works with genuine confidence their loved ones can age in place safely and comfortably at home.

Away from work, Sharon is a busy mom with two amazing, young children and they enjoy watching movies together, going on weekend outings and her personal favorite – shopping, shopping, and more shopping!

Jennifer Sanchez, Care Coordinator

In today’s fast-paced virtual world, many people meet and communicate by phone, over the internet, through emails, and text messages. These are efficient ways for people to connect, but if you ask Jennifer Sanchez which method she prefers, you’ll learn more about why she is an amazing Care Coordinator at Valley Home Care.

“One important thing I’ve learned in my job is that one size does not fit all in home care,” she explains. “Great home care is a very personal experience which is why I always sit down face-to-face with seniors and their families. We get to know each better and the rapport we build enables us to focus on what’s most important – making smarter, more personalize care decisions. Sharing our life stories with each other creates a special bond that stays with each of us for a lifetime, and that’s what I love most about my job.”

Jennifer is no stranger to caring for others. She’s been doing that for her husband of 31 years, her two boys, one daughter and two fur babies. Her family loves going to church together, watching movies, cheering San Francisco Giants baseball, and going to Fresno area hockey games.

If home care for a loved one is something your family is considering, talk to Jennifer. You’ll speak to someone with a kind, listening ear who can give you the reassurance you seek.

Nancy Venegas, Care Coordinator

It’s been said that the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is doing that little bit extra. That thought sums up what makes Valley Home Care Coordinator Nancy Venegas someone special to the seniors and families she works with daily.

“My path into the home care profession was from a different direction than most of my peers,” explains Nancy. “I was in retail management for over 3 years and what I learned from helping customers has enabled me to create a better experience for my home care clients. It’s not just trying to meet their expectations, but to always exceed them in unexpected and helpful ways.”

As a Care Coordinator, one of Nancy’s responsibilities is matching the right caregiver with the right client. “Everyone is unique,” says Nancy. “By having a thorough understanding of our caregiver’s skills and personalities as well as our client’s requirements, I’m able to pair them up accordingly which makes it a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Nancy relocated from South San Francisco to Modesto in 2018 and she enjoys spending her free time at home with her husband and three fur babies. Nancy loves spending time with family and friends, trying new foods and patronizing the make-up counters at local stores.
